Jeremy Renner Close to Joining The Avengers

According to The Hollywood Reporter Jeremy Renner is close to signing on for The Avengers. Renner would play Hawkeye, a conflicted villain that eventually joins up with the Avengers team. He was rumored to be in consideration to take on Hawkeye last year but at the time it seemed to be more of an idea just thrown out there rather than it having any substance. Renner recently was nominated as Best Actor at the Academy Awards for his performance in The Hurt Locker and is considered one of the hottest up-and-coming stars in Hollywood.
