Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune Film Announced

Sony/Columbia has announced that the video game Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune is being adapted into a feature film. David O. Russell (Three Kings, The Fighter) has signed on to write and direct. It is expected to shoot for release sometime in 2012.

The hit PS3 game follows the main character of Nathan Drake as he seeks out the lost treasure of El Dorado. Let the campaigning for Nathan Fillion to be cast in the lead role commence!

You can’t watch Castle and Firefly/Serenity and then go and play Uncharted 1 and 2 without thinking that Fillion would be the perfect Nathan Drake. I really hope it happens, as I’d absolutely go see that movie!

I remember playing Drakes Fortune for the first time and thinking to myself, “No way, how come nobody told me Nathan Fillion worked on this game?!”. IMDb proved to me otherwise but still, the resemblance is BAFFLING! All the more reason that Nathan Fillion should play Nathan Drake in the Drakes Fortune movie!

I think Nathan Fillion would be great for the role. Nolan North is a little too soft looking for as “action hero” a role as Drake would be.. I just can’t see him being believable for any of the role’s physical demands.

Nathan Fillion should be Nathan Drake. If it needs to be explained to you and you’re the one calling the shots… Well maybe you shouldn’t be making those important decisions. It’s a no brainer. Nathan Drake is 1 part Indy 1 part solo. That equals an awesome character that can only be played by Fillion. Nathan Fillion would be perfect as Nathan Drake. He resembles Drake in looks, has the same humor and wit and sarcasm.

And Bruce Campbell would be great as Sully. His character Sam Axe in Burn Notice even looks like a young Sully. I can just hear Campbell go “El goddamn Dorado!”
