Trailer for Iron Man 2

The first trailer for Iron Man 2 has just been unveiled. It is scheduled to play theatrically in front of Sherlock Holmes though there has been some rumors that it could arrive in front of Avatar.

Details about the plot for Iron Man 2 have been largely kept under wraps but assessing the new characters leads to an idea of the direction it is headed. Mickey Rourke is Whiplash, Scarlett Johansson is Black Widow, Olivia Munn is Iron Maiden, and Sam Rockwell plays Justin Hammer. Don Cheadle takes over as Col. James Rhodes aka War Machine. The story is set six months after the end of Iron Man and while it won’t directly take on the “Demon in a Bottle” storyline from the comics some signs of Stark’s alcoholism are expected to materialize. Iron Man 2 is slated to release on May 7th 2010.

While primarily focusing on Whiplash in the trailer there are also glimpses of War Machine, Black Widow, Justin Hammer, and even Nick Fury. Check out the trailer below and leave your thoughts in the comments!

Even had Sam Jackson in there. Guess they'll be tying the movie into The Avengers which should be really interesting to see how they do that.
