FlashForward Gone Until March

FlashForward has been having its issues which include ratings drops, complaints about the story progression from fans, and production shutdowns. It hit yet another series low in ratings last night. Despite this there was some hope with the writers having acknowledged the problems and promising that upcoming episodes would address them. Big developments were supposed to take place in the next few that had been slated for January. However now the show won’t even be returning until March 4th.

This is a gap that was not planned to take place. V premiered and showed its first four episodes but everyone knew that wasn’t returning until March (officially now the 30th). FlashForward was supposed to take off for the holidays as most original programming does and then come back full force in January. This delay also means that the episode that was lined up to air on April 29th, the day of the flash in the show, will not be the one to coincide with the date.

This is yet another bad sign for the future of the show. It will now lose what momentum it does have and there is little chance that people who gave up on it will all of the sudden become interested three months from now. There appears to be little to no chance of a second season as a turnaround seems even more unlikely given the latest news.

  • EPIC
the last episode was finally was going somewhere!!! and Wow got more info from you than pasta.
that sux, in 2 sentences at that
  • This just makes me sad. I've been really liking the show so far. *Sigh* Things like this seem to happen to new shows that I like the last few years.
  • Wow
    Three words: Stick to videogames.

FlashForward was supposed to come back in January. This plan was posited to the writers, and was laid out like this - Come back in January, and face a staggered schedule. More than one hiatus, episodes running with big breaks in between (from the Olympics and otherwise), and a big strain on the story.

According to David S. Goyer, one of FlashForward's showrunners, instead the writers decided to come back in March and let the episodes run in order with no breaks. There is no plans to cancel the show, especially after buying a full season. It will come back for

Your entertainment coverage is lacking, and it's items like this, along with rumors you post as fact that make this a half-assed attempt at reporting. You're VERY good at videogame coverage. Stick to it and leave the entertainment news to someone who knows what they're doing.
  • I was hoping the show would do well also. I thing the concept is very interesting but the gap may just kill it for me also. Jack is going to be back and college basketball in full swing. Flashforward needs a rewind button.
  • A case of too little, too late. Last night's episode was just what I had hoped for after a couple weeks of duds -- they put the focus right back on the two guys that need the focus. But with a couple cliffhangers that we have to wait for for 3 months, I'm not certain I'll be interested.

Also, if the show remains on Thursdays, that means they're competing with the NCAA tournament on a rival network. That might be the final blow if they don't make a major move when they come back.

And I really was hoping the show would do well.
