Ryan Reynolds GL

It looks like Ryan Reynolds will be working overtime as a comic book hero. Reynolds briefly mentioned his role as Wade Wilson in a Deadpool spin-off on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Now we finally have a release date for Green Lantern, DC Comics’ highly-anticipated live-action adaptation of its popular comic book.

The film will release June 17, 2011, putting it in competition with other summer comic blockbusters releasing that same year. We’ll have Spider-Man 4 in May and The First Avenger: Captain America in July. There hasn’t been much news in the way of a storyline for the film. There has also been no confirmation of who a leading villain would be. Either way, the summer of 2011 is shaping up nicely.

I thought the Green Lantern was a black guy >_>
  • I don't think anything can top the Dark Knight because that had such a real world setting. I think they will go towards the more light-hearted scenarios like Spider-man or Ironman. Not to say that those 2 movies weren't good but nothing beats a movie with a sense of realism to it.

  • I don't agree with the main actor for the title cast and the uniform looks a little corny but hopefully they get the story right.

  • Pretty sure thats just a photoshop. They havent started production on the movie.
  • I am tired of all these very subpar superhero/comic movies.
  • Reynolds is a good fit here, I especially like that hes so committed to being true to the comic and breaking the fourth wall.
